Moritz Kissinger

In the sprawling vineyards of Rheinhessen, Germany, Moritz Kissinger is quietly rewriting the rulebook.

While his family estate has long been part of the wine scene, Moritz wasn’t always certain it would become his calling. A year spent apprenticing with the Wagner family planted the seed. Starting as the least experienced cellar hand, he left as the one whose enthusiasm couldn’t be outmatched.

Now firmly at the helm, Moritz farms biodynamically across his family’s nearly 13 hectares, tending to two-thirds under the family label, while dedicating the remaining third to his personal project. He takes over the land carefully, adding just half to one hectare each year, ensuring each vine gets the attention it deserves.

His work in the cellar balances oak barrels with steel, guided by a singular mission: to craft wines that are fresh, vibrant, and wholeheartedly expressive of grape, terroir, and vintage. Never predictable, always nuanced.

What sets Moritz apart is his calm, steady energy. There’s no rush, no shortcuts, just thoughtful work that lets the wines speak in their own voice. Each bottle reflects his quiet determination: precise, unforced, and with a depth that lingers long after the last sip.
