Strekov 1075

The name Strekov 1075 is more than just a label. It marks the first written record of the village of Strekov in southern Slovakia, and for the winery it symbolizes a deep connection to history, place and tradition.

Every decision in the vineyard and cellar reflects a philosophy of loyalty to nature and to the values that have shaped Strekov’s winemaking culture for centuries.

Today, the estate cultivates 12 hectares of vineyards in an ecologically responsible way, with five hectares trained on traditional wooden poles. Indigenous grape varieties such as Rizling vlašský, Veltlínske zelené, Modrý Portugal, Frankovka modrá and Svätovavrinecké remain at the heart of production. All vineyard work is carried out by hand, reinforcing the close bond between grower and vine.

In the cellar, the approach is equally uncompromising. Fermentation happens spontaneously in barrels and open vats, guided by the rhythm of nature rather than intervention. Ancient practices like skin maceration for orange wines, aging under a veil (voile), and bottling with sediment and without sulphur, give the wines their raw, unfiltered energy. Extended maturation on the lees adds both texture and stability, creating wines that speak clearly of their terroir.

The result is a portfolio that balances authenticity and originality, a refreshing voice in the modern wine world’s constant noise.
