Ytre Hvaler Vingård

At Ytre Hvaler Vingård, wine is more than a product, it is a vision for the future.

Founded in 2021, they have already planted over 5,000 vines, focusing on Fruhburgunder, Weisser Riesling, and Solaris, as well as more than 1,500 rhubarb plants. With a pioneering spirit, Ytre is working to put Norway on the map as a producer of high-quality wines.

Sustainability is the foundation of the vineyard’s work. From organic and biodynamic farming methods to close collaborations with local businesses, landowners, researchers, and international experts, Ytre Hvaler Vingård is building a model where innovation, knowledge, and respect for nature go hand in hand.

The long-term ambition is bold: an annual production of 30,000–50,000 bottles, new local jobs, and a thriving year-round destination that strengthens the region’s economy. At the same time, the vineyard contributes to climate solutions through soil-based carbon storage and responsible use of both land and marine resources.

Behind the project stand Anders H. Lier, Sander Zakariassen Hansen, and Knut H. Hansen with their families, united by a shared dream of creating a vineyard that embodies both tradition and innovation, rooted in the unique landscape of Ytre Hvaler.
