François Secondé

For centuries, the village of Sillery has been known for producing some of the most prized wines in Champagne. Today, François Secondé carries that legacy forward as the only récoltant-manipulant (grower-producer) crafting Champagne exclusively from Sillery.

François began his journey at just 14 years old, first as an apprentice and later as a vineyard worker. In 1972 he purchased his first parcel, and by 1976, with the support of his wife Anne-Marie, he began producing his own Champagne. What started small has grown into 5.5 hectares of sustainably farmed vines, planted mainly to Pinot Noir with a smaller share of Chardonnay.

Secondé’s wines capture the singular character of Sillery’s chalky soils and its history as a Grand Cru village. They are Champagnes of precision, structure, and depth, reflecting both the terroir and the independent spirit of their maker.
