Olek Bondonio
Olek Bondonio has quickly become one of the most sought-after names in Barbaresco.
He grew up in the family farmhouse La Berchialla, surrounded by some of the region’s most celebrated crus. After a career as a professional snowboarder, Olek returned home to focus on wine, gaining experience both in Langhe and abroad before taking over the family vineyards.
Today he farms nearly seven hectares across Barbaresco’s Roncagliette and Starderi crus, with additional parcels in Altavilla, Neive and Catagnole delle Lanze, plus a historic vineyard high above Alba.
His work is rooted in organic farming and a hands-on approach. In the cellar he shows restraint and patience, producing pure, deep, and decidedly old-school expressions of Piedmont’s local grapes.
