Oxymore
Oxymore is the project of brothers-in-law Guilhem Henriot and Rémi Thomas, based in the village of Domblans at the foot of Château-Chalon in the Jura.
Guilhem spent six years as a sommelier in Burgundy before returning to his home region to work with the celebrated François Rousset-Martin. Rémi, a teacher and also the mayor of his village, joined him there, and together they honed their skills in both vineyard and cellar.
In 2022 they launched Oxymore, producing serious, terroir-driven wines from Chardonnay and Savagnin in Château-Chalon and Côtes du Jura, alongside a négociant range with grapes sourced from organic growers in other French regions. All grapes are hand-harvested, fermentations rely on native yeasts, and intervention is kept to a minimum.
The result is “banging,” characterful wines that show both the depth of Jura’s traditions and the energy of a new generation. Even the labels carry a personal touch – each one is illustrated by Guilhem’s wife.
